Wash your hands thoroughly before touching your piercing.
Clean your piercing 2–3 times a day using a saline solution (or a mild sea salt solution: 1/4 tsp salt in 240 ml warm water).
Use a clean cotton pad or gauze to gently remove crusts.
Avoid alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or harsh antiseptics — they can damage the skin and delay healing.
Rinse the piercing gently with warm water in the shower.
Avoid swimming in pools, hot tubs, lakes, or oceans during the healing period.
Keep hair, cosmetics, and clothing away from the piercing as much as possible.
Do not twist or remove the jewelry during healing.
Avoid unnecessary touching.
Use only high-quality materials (surgical steel, titanium, or niobium) for initial piercings.
Contact a professional piercer or a doctor if you notice:
Excessive redness or swelling
Severe pain or throbbing
